Wausau Paper will be closing its historic mill in Brokaw, laying off about 450 people. The mill first opened more than 100 years ago.
Meanwhile, Gov. Walker signed bills into law yesterday that:
- Allow homeowners to use deadly force against trespassers
- Cap attorney fees
- Allow school officials to use standardized tests to discipline or fire teachers
- Allow liquor sales to start at 6 a.m.
These new laws are the product of what Walker calls his “laser-focus” on jobs.
